My name is Peter Corrigan, aka Pere Noir or Peter Envy, hence the name of this venture. I started playing guitar during the British Invasion and have doggedly persisted in trying to “be a musician” all these years. I was part of the Rochester Blues scene in the mid to late 1970’s playing alongside Joe Likely, Joe Beard, and other Rochester Blues legends. I was a member of Blues Alley in the Albany Schenectady region of New York from 1990 to 1995 and while a member of the band shared the stage with Pinetop Perkins, Ronnie Earl and the Broadcasters, Kim Simmonds and Savoy Brown, and Kenny Neal. I formed Blues Noir in 1997 with core members John Nichols and Paul Brisco. I'm happy to say that we are back on the road this year, having played at Wallabee's Jazz Bar in Glens Falls, NY, The Galley in Westport, NY, and the Tail of the Pup in Ray Brook, NY. We hope to be appearing locally at the Dinosaur Barbeque in Troy, NY and other venues so keep an eye out for future dates at the Blues Noir.com Noir Dates page.
Early Blues Noir We recorded these songs in 1999, the first three live at the late great Metro in Saratoga Springs, NY, recorded by Scott McPherson, the fourth song was recorded at Tony Perrino's Tony's House Studio.
We recorded One Red Rose at Tony's House Studio in early 2000, and as fate and luck had it, the great Janelle Donovan was part of the Tony's House artist roster and she consented to appear on the song with us.

My Favorite Songs
For one reason or another, these songs are the favorites that I've written, Lords knows why...probably the puerile nature of some of the lyrics, a particular groove, or the circumstances that gave birth to the song. What I Am is an autobiographical tome that was one of the first I wrote back when Blues Noir formed. Jelly Roll off the Table features George Schacher of Aged in the Hills on fiddle, and Let Me Out the Car features Tony "Fess" Perrino on piano.
